Cain ran a hand through his wet hair, shoving it out of his dripping wet face and saw that Kate was laughing at him. He rolled his eyes, looking a little embarrassed that he had actually fallen off the broom. He kind of wished the mood would stay like that, but suddenly Kate asked him something and the atmosphere changed drastically. "You know what? I know you're hiding something about yourself. You can't lie to a witch, they sense it running in your blood." A guarded look appeared in Cain's eyes.
However, instead of questioning him more, Kate started to talk about something else. "You... you look just like this kid I saw when I was... um ten," she suddenly said. Cain listened as she told him about her adventures as she traveled through the towns, about the boy she had met. He watched as Kate looked up at the stars and a tear ran down her cheek. He wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know how, so he just continued to listen to her talk. He was good at that, listening to what people had to say. Kate told him how the she and the boy fell asleep under the cherry blossom tree, and how when she woke up the boy was gone. He could tell that she missed him, whoever he was.
Cain was silent for a long time, not really knowing what to say to her. Yes, he was glad that the spotlight was off him now and she was no longer bugging him about his past, but it bothered him to see her sad like this. He desperately wanted to say something to make it better, but he didn't know what. He wasn't good at comforting people, he wasn't good at picking out just the right words.
"Do you believe that there is somebody for everybody? Like a perfect match, or everybody is just star-crossed lovers like Romeo and Juliet," Kate said and looked at Cain. He wanted to look away from her sad eyes, but he couldn't, he just stared into them with sympathy. Cain didn't know what pain like that felt like. He had a feeling that he should, though. Like, if he were to regain all his memories right now, he would understand her perfectly. But he didn't want to have memories like that. He was too scared to let himself be hurt like that. "I do..." Kate added.
Cain took in a sharp breath and finally tore his gaze away from her. He didn't know what he believed. Of course, he knew the story of Romeo and Juliet, but look how they had ended up, dead. Still, though, there was something about that story that was nice. The idea of being loved, loved so much that the other person was willing to take their own life just to be with you again, it was nice in a way.
"Me too," he answered at last, looking back up at Kate. "And maybe, if things like fate and destiny really do exist, then maybe you will see this boy again one day. In fact, I know you will. As long as you believe it, then I am certain." Cain wasn't entirely sure if he believed what he was saying, but he thought it sounded nice and he wanted to believe it. He gave Kate a rather sad smile and rested a hand on her shoulder. He could feel her pain when he did that, her emotions flowed into him.

Kate could sense that Cain had no idea of how to comfort someone, she wished that he would gain his memories so that he did not struggle with this world it would suck to be without feelings.
Cain had said that he believed in love at first sight and that if Kate believed that she would find this boy again. This brought happy tears to Kate's face. Cain smiled and rested his hand on her shoulder. Kate laughed at Cain's pathetic smile. Kate grabbed Cain's hand and held it in her hands. Kate lifted his hand to her face and sighed. "Thank you Cain, you are really sweet even though you may not see it. You make me laugh and you make feel relaxed, I hope I don't lose you as a friend I want to be friends Cain..." Kate blushed but didn't let go of Cain's hand, she felt the warmth of her hand which felt nice. Kate held it there looking at Cain with sparkling eyes. Kate slowly dropped Cain's hand and swam closer and dunked Cain in the water.
"We are here Cain! We are at Paris!" Kate said laughing. Kate grabbed Cain's hand not knowing if he was above water or under.
Flying is fun but transporting is funner
Take me to the top of the Eiffel Tower
Let no hume eyes see us up there but let us see them
Kate chanted this as she closed her eyes and squeezed Cain's hand. A purple shimmering light formed both around Kate and Cain. A sweet smell of lavender and rose filled the air.
Kate opened her eyes to the sight of the city.
Although these bars are nice
We prefer two seats that are small
As I chant these words make these seats appear
The spell slipped through her lips as if they were air. Kate sat down without looking and fell into a chair filled with stuff. It was so comfortable that Kate sighed and went limp every ache in her body came out of her and floated around her. They were like pictures that were floating around her, the pics were unclear. She tried to make out the pic of her and the boy but when she touched the memory it disappeared and so did the others. They turned into mist that sprayed her face making her giggle like a little girl at age 3.
"How and when do you think I will find this boy?" Kate said as she closed her eyes and called to her spell book. The book flew into her hands three seconds after she called to it. As Kate thought a particular thought came to Kate's mind. "Hey Cain how would you like to have your memories back! Think long and hard because this will change your life, I don't want to choose for you but I would try to get my memories at all cost, that's just me though!" Kate said this as she came to the mind spells in the book, there was a particular that could heal minds. Kate pointed at the spell gesturing for Cain to read it. Kate had this gut feeling that this is what she was suppose to do even if Cain declined. Kate would never do something without someones consent. "Are you sure.." said a voice inside Kate's head it continued. "Would you do anything to save a life..." Kate listened till the voice became the wind. Kate sat there puzzled, but ignored it.
Kate started looking over the list of ingrediants, there were quite a few items but it was worth putting together if that was what Cain wanted.
